Percussion - Music for Movement - Education

 Fabian Theory

Fabian Theory by Nigel Westlake (1987) for solo for marimba, digital delay, and live looping. I learned this piece for a dance collaboration with choreographer, Dan Schuchart at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I worked with Dan to select pieces from the percussion repertoire that incorporate electronic elements and would provide the dynamic energy and form needed for his choreographic ideas to come to life.

Cello Suite No. 1

by J.S. Bach, BWV 1007

Andy Miller, marimba
Recorded at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.

Reflections on the Nature of Water: Crystalline

Composed by Jacob Druckman. This piece is representative of my background as a classical percussionist. During my Master's Degree, I studied much of the solo marimba literature with William Moersch who commissioned and premiered this piece. Working with William Moersch lit the fire in my life for working with living composers to commission and premiere new works.

Side by Side

Composed by Michio Kitazume for solo multi-percussion.
